  • Charity Crochet will be Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm at RiverWalk Church of Christ. We will be working on red hats and lapghans for the nursing home in Haysville. The guild will provide yarn. Just bring your hooks and your love for crochet. Please bring and invite anyone who loves to make simple items.
  • Monthly Challenge: Any kind of crocheted flower.
  • Yearly Dues are $25 per year starting in January or if you would like, you can pay for two years and only pay $45.
  • Dinner before the evening meeting (around 5:00 pm) will be at Rueben’s at 915 W Douglas.

  • Charity Crochet will be Saturday, March 16, 2019 from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm at RiverWalk Church of Christ. We will be working on red hats and lapghans for the nursing home in Haysville. The guild will provide yarn. Just bring your hooks and your love for crochet. Please bring and invite anyone who loves to make simple items.
  • Monthly Challenge: Anything made with bulky yarn.
  • Yearly Dues are $25 per year starting in January or if you would like, you can pay for two years and only pay $45.
  • Spring Retreat this year is April 12-14. The retreat will be at the Potter Creek Lodge outside of Pretty Prairie, Kansas. The address is 6310 W Fountain Green Road. The project will be the Boho Tunic and the pattern will be handed out during the retreat. If anyone is interested in just going to the retreat for the day and you are a member of the guild, the cost will be $20. If you are interested in this, please get with Susie or Tamara.
  • Dinner before the evening meeting (around 5:00 pm) will be at the Monarch at 579 W Douglas.

March Program

Our Own Catherine Blocher will be with us to share her knowledge of substituting yarn and how to read our yarn wrappers.

You may bring your own project to work on this month or we will have the pattern to start your Spring Bunting (banner) for the April Chapter Challenge.

You can use any size of yarn that you want for your Spring Bunting (banner). Just remember the bigger the yarn the bigger your bunting will be. 🙂 And remember to bring the size of hook that your yarn wrapper recommends.

  • Monthly Challenge: Anything crocheted into a Heart.
  • Yearly Dues are $25 per year starting in January or if you would like, you can pay for two years and only pay $45.
  • If you had your dues paid by the end of the January evening meeting, you will eligible to win a really cool prize. The drawing for the prize will be held at this months morning meeting.
  • Spring Retreat this year will be April 12-14. We will be retreating at the Potter Creek Lodge outside of Pretty Prairie, Kansas. The address is 6310 W Fountain Green Road. The retreat will cost $45 per person and the lodge can only hold up to 18 people. In order to secure your space at the Spring Retreat you will need to pay half or if you want to you can pay the total amount of $45 at the meeting in February. More details will be handed out at this months meeting.
  • Dinner before the evening meeting (around 5:00 pm) will be at Saigon Restaurant at 1103 N Broadway.

  • Charity Crochet will be Saturday, January 17, 2019 from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm at RiverWalk Church of Christ. We will be working on red hats and 10″ squares to make into lapghans. The guild will provide yarn. Just bring your hooks and your love for crochet. Please bring and invite anyone who loves to make simple items.
  • Monthly Challenge: There is no monthly challenge due this month, but if you made a Christmas item with the Apache Tears pattern please bring that.
  • Yearly Dues are due by the end of January’s evening meeting. Dues are $25 per year starting in January or if you would like, you can pay for two years and only pay $45. If you have your dues paid by the evening meeting, you will get your name placed into a drawing for a cool prize. The drawing for the cool prize will be held at the February’s morning meeting.

Program: Apache Tears

Taught by Susan Emerson and Linda Gibson

Supplies needed:

Any Worsted Weight Yarn (Susan suggested Hobby Lobby’s I Love this Yarn Colorway: Print)

Or you can use any variegated yarn with one solid color for the bottom of slipper.

Susan does not suggest black yarn, because of the lighting in the room.

Hook: Size H/5.00 MM

Yarn Needle and Scissors

Pattern for slippers will be provided at the meeting.

Next months chapter challenge is to make something Christmasy with the apache tear stitch.
