We had really great meetings for the KS My Stitch group. These pictures show some of the members and their completed projects. It’s so fun to see what all is going on with everyone.
We also had a few new people, including Judy from Hutchinson, who told us all about the group she crochets with at the rec center and how much charity work they do. It was inspiring.
A new board was also elected to start in January. The board elect is: Tamara Gonzales, president; Rosina Smith, vice president; and Cori Dodds, secretary/treasurer. There are also three committees that the board could use some help with. They are a membership committee, a program committee, and an outreach committee. Please contact any member of the board if you would like to volunteer for one of these committees.
Also, remember that we will be collecting 8-inch afghan squares to send to California. A crochet group in Southern California is collecting them to make afghans for victims of the recent wildfires. With more than 2,000 homes destroyed, there is a great need. Cori will collect the squares at the December meeting and send them to the California group.
And we are still collecting 9-inch and 12-inch squares for our own charity afghans. Please continue to make those as well. We are also in a position to start putting those afghans together and will need some additional help. We would like to possibly meet between our regularly scheduled guild meetings to begin the assembly. We are looking for a place that we might be able to meet that doesn’t cost anything. We would also like to meet at a time that is convenient for as many as possible. The assembly meetings may be able to continue on an on-going basis for as long as we are collecting squares. As you can see from the photo below, we have gathered a lot of squares!
