March Program – Irish Crochet

I don’t know about you, but I am very excited about this month’s program.  We are going to learn from one of our own, Lisa Mertes.  She is going to teach us the art of Irish Crochet.

You will need the following supplies:

  • You will need #10 crochet thread
  • 7 steel crochet hook.
  • If you are not comfortable with thread bring any weight yarn and a hook that will carry it.

If you are not interested in learning the technique, bring your own project to work on and enjoy the socialization.

  Snacks this month are:

AM – Kaye Gruver

PM – Tamara Gonzales

Please feel free to bring a snack if you would like.

Remember secret sister gifts, door prizes and show – n – share!

  1. If you have one of those little tape measures we all carry around, bring that. We will have some extras or you can find them at Twist or Hobby Lobby back in the sewing dept. We will be making a cover for one of these. The pattern is Erin’s Rose which is a pattern I put together using several different vintage Irish crochet patterns.

If you don’t like working with #10 thread, a larger #3 thread, sock yarn, finger weight yarn or lace weight yarn will all work and a b or c hook will work as well.

If you don’t like working with even that small of yarn, you can do the pattern with any yarn and matching hook, it will just be larger and may be too big to use for a cover for your tape measure but it will still be something pretty to use for something else.
